Twitter Weather Robots
Twitter Weather Robots provide twice-per-day weather forecast and updates for anywhere in the world using the Yahoo Weather API. For cities and towns in the U.S.A., the Twitter Weather Robot will also provide NOAA Watches / Warnings / Advisories within 5 to 10 minutes of being issued, depending on the status of Twitter and the Twitter Weather Robots server.
At 6:00 AM, the Twitter Weather Robot will provide the forecast for the day. For example:
Sun, Nov 23: PM Showers, High of 52, Low of 27.
At 11:45 AM, the Twitter Weather Robot will provide the current conditions. For example:
Currently: Cloudy 32 F (Feels like 26) Sunset: 4:59 pm.
The Twitter Weather Robot is particularly convenient if you subscribe to these alerts via SMS. You will know how to dress in the morning just by looking at your mobile phone and whether or not you’ll need an umbrella. Also, you’ll receive NOAA Watches / Warnings / Advisories on your phone within minutes, which is very helpful in severe situations.
If NOAA issues an advisory, watch, or warning for a U.S. city, the Twitter Weather Robot will tweet the alert within 5 – 10 minutes. For example:
